At its essence, an aperture is an opening or gateway that allows light to enter a system. In a camera, this shows up as a lens that can be narrowed or opened depending on whether we need to focus on fine details, or the big picture.
We are in a time that is best categorized as a season of change. Not only is it necessary for us to find new ways of existing in harmony with the world around us, but what becomes evident is that even beneficial change isn’t something you can turn on like a light switch. The change our century is tasked with is not just adding technology to existing systems - it’s also changing organizations and systems themselves so they are able to adopt these new solutions.
As it has for time immemorial, societal change starts with the individual, and this substack invites you to join me in exploring how this might show up in your own world by opening and closing your own aperture to see the multiple points of view needed to actualize our next stage as a society.
